County OSCAs 2014

What turned out to be the last day of county championship cricket season seen at Edgbaston this year, the county OSCAs (Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards) was held in the Marston’s Suite during the Lunch interval. The OSCAs is a celebration of all the hard work done by volunteers in cricket clubs within Warwickshire. Club captain Jim Troughton was the guest presenter on the day and many thanks has to go to Jim for his time. During the ceremony time was taken to have a question and answer session with the club captain which was a great insight into how volunteers helped him when he was a youngster looking to make a name for himself in county cricket.

There were eight awards to be recognised during the presentation:

Behind the Scenes: Umar Farooq (Attock CC)

Behind the Scenes: Stuart Paul (Dorridge CC)

NatWest CricketForce Club of the year: Kings Heath CC

Leagues and Boards: Thomas Owen (WCB)

Lifetime Achievement: John Askew (Massey Ferguson)

Lifetime Achievement: Mark Ryan (Leamington CC)

Lifetime Achievement: Paul Richardson (Kineton Sports & Social Club)

Lifetime Achievement: Eric Palmer (Willoughby CC)

During the Ceremony we also acknowledged all clubs who gained ClubMark re-accreditation and two clubs who gain ClubMark accreditation for the first time.

They are the following clubs Gained ClubMark Reaccreditation:

Ambleside, Attock, Bablake, Coleshill, Coventry & North Warick, Fillongley, Great Alne, Highway, Knowle & Dorridge, Leamington, Moseley, Olton & West Warwick, Rugby, Sheldon Marlborough, Solihull Blossomfield, Standard, Sutton Coldfield, Water Orton, Weoley Hill

The following two clubs gained ClubMark accreditation for the first time:

Kineton

Wellesborne

Massive congratulations go to all the OSCA winners as well as ClubMark Accreditations and a huge thank you for all their efforts in their respective clubs. Without volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes many cricket clubs would not be able to sustain.
