Fairfax School from Sutton Coldfield won the Midlands Regional Round of the Lord Taverners Table Cricket Competition at Edgbaston on Tuesday. The school were 1 of 4 Warwickshire representatives in the 8 Team team event . The other schools being Victoria, Brooke and Wilson Stuart. The increasingly popular Lord Taverners event is the cornerstone of the Table Cricket calendar which see schools qualifying for the event via 2 leagues run in county under the guidance of Martyn Collis who coordinates the programme.
In July Fairfax will represent the Midlands at Lords in the National Finals along with 5 with regional winners. It will be a return to the finals for the school who made finals day in 2013.
Both the Regional and National Finals days are being supported by a group of 7 young leaders from Lordswood School who have given up their time to help with umpiring and scoring .
