With the district structure moving to 4 areas (previously 6) Warwickshire Cricket Board is now looking for coaches to apply for the role of district coach with a view to professionalise district cricket within the county.
Candidates who would like to apply for the role of District Coach must have the following certificates in date:
- Minimum Level 2 ECB qualification
- First Aid (covering CPR)
- Safeguarding Young Children
- DBS
- Member of the ECB CA
Within each District team (U11, U13, U15) there will be three coaches – one lead coach and two support coaches. Within this coaching team one of the three coaches MUST be able to coach the summer fixtures which make up the following:
3 days - Whitsun week
4 days - Summer Holidays (dates depend on age group)
Our plans to professionalise district cricket is to achieve:
- Greater concentration of playing talent
- Greater identification for players with their district / nearest town or city
- A higher standard of coaches
- Competition for coaches working with performance players
- More support and training for district coaches with a view to progress
- Rationalisation of resources
