With the district structure moving to 4 areas (previously 6) Warwickshire Cricket Board is now looking for an individual within each district team to manager the running of the team through the summer and winter months.
The role of the volunteer manager is to work with the head district officer and the regional cricket promotions officer (CPO) to confirm player’s attendance throughout the winter months and to help with the general administration of running a cricket game leading up to the summer fixtures and through the district matches. Managers do not need to be in attendance at winter training but would be required to be at district fixtures through the summer.
Candidates who would like to apply for the role of volunteer manager must have the following certificates in date. (If you do not have these certificates WCB can work with you to achieve these)
- First Aid (covering CPR)
- Safeguarding Young Children
- DBS
Our plans to professionalise district cricket is to achieve:
- Greater concentration of playing talent
- Greater identification for players with their district / nearest town or city
- Rationalisation of resources
Having managers at each age group will align the district with county and will improve the management and running of district cricket. If you would like to apply for the role of Volunteer District Manager then please fill out the District-Manager-Application and send to Darren Franklin at the following email address [email protected]
