The Warwickshire Groundsmens Association (WGA)

The WGA is aimed at supporting all groundsmen within the Warwickshire area. Becoming a WGA member is very straightforward, all you have to do is fill out the application form (click on the link below) and send off to Darren Franklin, Warwickshire Cricket Board, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B57AQU with payment of £10.

By paying the £10 you will receive:

  • Two free newsletters per year
  • An invitation to the WGA awards where there will be a guest speaker
  • A workshop with the Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC) head groundsman Gary Barwell at the Edgbaston County Ground
  • Discounted rates off leading suppliers
  • Support from WGA and our pitch advisers (additional costs for a visit)
  • A strong support network of groundsmen within the Warwickshire area
  • Information regarding courses and updates from the Institution of Groundsmen (IOG)
  • Spike hire

If you would like to become a groundsman, or if you already are a groundsman and are looking to develop your skills there are a number of different courses you could sign up to offering an array of qualifications.
