The Edgbaston Cricket Centre will be running two course starting in May 2015: ECC Mini Bears Coaching Course and ECC Introduction to Hardball. Please see below for details of each course and booking forms.
Course: ECC Mini Bears Coaching Course
These softball sessions will consist of numerous FUNdamental activities and games, to develop basic movement and co-ordination skills, as well as the introduction of simple techniques for cricket.
The 6 week programme will cover all areas of the game, batting, bowling, fielding and wicket keeping as well as providing opportunities for match play practice.
This is a great opportunity to get your child talent identified and to start their journey through the Warwickshire Cricket Board player pathway.
Course content:
- Warm ups focusing on agility, balance, co-ordination and speed
- Group coaching sessions looking at the basics of; Batting, Bowling, Fielding and Wicket keeping
- Softball match play opportunities
Please note all coaches have been DBS checked, and have attended Child Protection and first aid training.
Course: ECC Introduction to Hardball
This course is slightly more advanced than the Mini Bears Programme. We want to help children transition from softball cricket and introduce them to the hardball game.
We will provide the children with cricket pads, gloves and helmets and get them use to facing a hard ball. This can be done using a variety of skill, drills and net-based sessions.
The coaches on this course will assess each individual child and progress them according to their own ability.
