All Stars cricket took over the Indoor Cricket Centre at Edgbaston on Saturday 7th June when 60 children aged 5–8 years took the first steps of their cricketing journey. All Stars is the England and Wales Cricket Board new national entry programme designed to get youngsters playing the game. It provides a mixture of skills and games to equip children with the fundamental skills needed to play the game – most importantly its great fun.
So far over 1300 children across the county have signed up to the programme with many clubs including Wellesbourne, Kings Heath, Claverdon having well in excess of 40 new players.
Andy Owen Development Manager for the Indoor School said “We have been looking forward to the launch of All Stars for a number of weeks now. We have managed to put together a really good team of coaches to make sure the children all have a great experience. There was a real buzz of excitement around the centre on Saturday and we look forward to it continuing through the coming weeks".
