The 2018 All Stars Cricket programme got off to a spectacular launch of Friday. This year will see some 2000 young boys and girls aged between 5 and 8 years old enjoy a first experience of cricket in Warwickshire ( and 50000 nationally) . The pictures show take off at Wellesbourne Cricket Club who have 100 little stars. This incredible number of young players is supported by Simon Ariss team of activators who ensured all the youngster's enjoyed a stellar time. Simon said " we worked really hard over the winter to ensure we had a team of 10 activators mainly dads of children ready for the start of the summer - this in turn ensures that the children have a great time when they come along and want to come back"

Wellesbourne has embraced the programme to open a galaxy of opportunities. Friday saw not only the cricket but a bouncy castle / slush machine / BBQ in addition to the usual bar and catering arrangements - Club Chairman Phil Rothwell said " we have tried to fully embrace the opportunity to get new families into the game and coming to the club. So whilst the children paly , mum and dad can have a drink at the bar. We have seen our volunteer base increase over the 2 years we have been involved and a bit of extra cash behind the bar is always handy for a club"
