The Warwickshire Cricket Board is delighted to be running a Primary School teachers Course for school teachers across Warwickshire. Developed in partnership with Chance to Shine teachers can develop their knowledge, understanding and application of appropriate games and practices within the national curriculum.
WCB will also be joined by Create Development who share the same vision of developing the whole child.
Teachers are key to the success of Chance to Shine. The more engaged they are, the more likely that cricket will continue in schools. That’s why they place great importance on teacher training, both formal and informal.
Chance to Shine have created a powerful bank of free resources for primary and Secondary schools, so teachers can lead their own cricket sessions with confidence. Click here to sign up to the free resources: https://teachers.chancetoshine.org
The Chance to Shine teacher CPD modules are a set of six modules of 20-30 mins. The modules include a Foundation (introductory) module which is compulsory plus batting, bowling, fielding, games (for a whole class) and Kwik Cricket / Competitions. Chance to Shine is a national charity that aims to give all children the opportunity to play, learn and develop through cricket. They believe that cricket can help to develop the personal, social and physical skills of the 500,000 children that they work with every year.
Together with Chance to Shine and Create Development, Warwickshire Cricket Board will be delivering a Primary School Teacher CPD day at Edgbaston to support teachers in delivering cricket in their schools.
